Chelsea boss,Thomas Tuchel, slams ref for joking with Ancelotti

UCL: Tuchel sets new record, surpasses Zidane, Guardiola (Top 5)

Chelsea’s dramatic encounter was settled in the sixth minute of extra-time when Karim Benzema pounced to score Real’s second goal to secure an astonishing 5-4 aggregate for the Spanish giants. Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger, and Timo Werner had earlier put the Blues on course to qualifying for the semis, only for Rodrygo to score with nine minutes left on the clock to force the tie into extra time.

It was during the period when Benzema’s moment of magic eliminated Chelsea from the competition as Real progressed to the last four.

There was more drama after the final whistle of the clash as Tuchel was left angry with the referee for sharing a joke with Ancelotti. While Tuchel was disappointed with the overall officiating of the tie, he was particularly bothered with the referee’s decision to have a light moment with his opposite

He said; “I was disappointed that the referee had a good time with my colleague, Carlo Ancelotti. I know Carlo is a gentleman and a nice guy, but when I wanted to go and say thank you for the match, I saw him smiling and laughing loudly with the opponents’ coach,”

“I think this is the very, very wrong time to do this after a final whistle and 126 minutes where one team gave all their hearts and fought until the last drop,” he added.
